I dig Necrophagist a lot more than other tech death personally. Generally the genre isn't for me but there's some great solos are riffs on this.

Basically, I get if tech death isn't for you, but there are distinct lines between overly technical releases that lack good songwriting, and well-written tech death. Most non-fans of the genre aren't willing to listen through enough to these releases to make the distinction. That's cool, even if you just don't like them in general. But goddamn it's annoying having the same argument with non-fans like it's gonna change anything. Necrophagist have sick riffs and solos.
