A grunge classic, Dirt is Alice In Chains' pinnacle and really sent them into the stratosphere as far a popularity goes. Layne Staley was on the top of his game here as was Jerry Cantrell. His guitar work is very good. The solo in Them Bones is terrific. With bassist Mike Starr and drummer Sean Kinney providing a very reliable rhythm backdrop, Staley and Cantrell could take their sound anywhere. This is really a must-have for any rock fan. Best songs are Them Bones, Rooster, Angry Chair, Down In a Hole and Would? (the latter is my personal favourite).
