It's a tad hard getting into this, but I'll try a bit of Kayo Dot, too.
Wait, I take that back.
This is effing godly right now.

Take your time with this first and try Kayo Dot (I'd say Choirs of the Eye) when you want something new.

Choirs is a lot better than this on so many levels. It's a masterpiece of modern music (yay unintentional alliteration).

Who here thinks Leaving Your Body Map is better? Or is it just me?

Bath > Choirs > My Fruit Psychobells ≥ Leaving Your Body Map >>>all other toby driver stuff

My Fruit Psychobells needs more appreciation. The production may suck a chode but I enjoy it more than LYBM most of the time.

Psychobells is good, but it's probably near the end of my list in terms of Toby Driver material.

His self-titled stuff and Tartar Lamb are pretty fucking sweet.

Haven't heard Tartar Lamb.

I wasn't big into his self-titled but I didn't give it many listens. It bored me for the most part, but I liked the first track for the most part.

self titled & Tartar Lamb are very weird, closer to modern classical than to any of his other stuff I think. they rule nevertheless.

I hope the new maudlin album will be as good as the old stuff, I think it will be great to see Toby Driver returning to his metal roots for one album.

"They Aren't All Beautiful" came as a bit of a shock since i'm used to the more accessible "Kayo Dot" heavy moments. Still, after only a listen this is simply amazing.

I dunno, I didn't have much trouble with Choirs. I'm just saying the heavy mauldin moments are much more confronting then the Kayo Dot ones, mainly because of the death growls and the rawer production.

This is really, really, really, really bad. And I don't feel like I belong here anymore.

The first half of the album is lacking, but after "Marid's Gift of Art" the album becomes really good until the beautiful closer "Geography".This Message Edited On 12.29.08

You'll learn son. This is probably just a bit experimental for you.
