A real treat for the diehard fans of this band (myself included)
Still doesn't stack up to Chasing Ghosts and Youngbloods but man, for an Amity album in 2023 I'm more than pleased with it.

In all seriousness though, this is the least offensive Ahren has been in awhile, but I still feel like some of these choruses are major missteps. Almost every verse on the album is fucking fantastic, Joel sounds good and the instrumentals are reeeeally on point, the use of keys/synths in particular is outstanding.

Ahren has never really ever been good. You've just got to kind of accept that fact that his auto tuned nasally vocals are going to come into their songs. Joel on the other hand is just getting better.
Some of Ahrens melodies are good - just his voice has nothing behind it. It's just so fucking dull.

i really dig ahren on the new one. his patterns are still a little on the basic side but even with that being the case theyre still all pretty great and way better than usual post ocean pre ep amity fare. tho i would love if he eventually threw those sweet sweet glorious chasing ghosts harmony writing back into the mix one day he was honestly amazing at that
and joel sounds incredible ofc. maybe the best he ever has
