Finally getting around to this. Track one: "Let me ruin my guts tonight" is one of the worst lyrics of all time.

I try out some albums I find on Sputnik threads and discussions and without being on heavy rotation at first, I find myself returning quite often, until they actually become favourites. Such is the case of Trophy Scar's Holy Vacants, same with Sikth's Opacities and now the same applies to Beave Faces Everyone. Holy shit, what an album. The lyrics are just spot on and the musical dynamics (more than the music itself) make this a real experience that cuts deep. And no, this was never intended as a sound off.

Nah that's spot on. Can't think of the last album I heard that had any sort of a serious class-based message about how fucking bad life sucks when you're broke and repeatedly beat from everything else around you.
Go ahead and bitch about how the emotions in the vocals are forced or the lyrics are cheesy. More often than not I just think people talking that way don't really care for the genre, period. And that's fine, but then why are you listening to this? I don't listen to your shitty genres lol

I loved this album from the first listen but now, with the Corona lockdown in the UK and the impact it's going to have on people's jobs and the economy, it hits like a sledgehammer.
This could be the soundtrack of the imminent recession!

Never got into the album before this, never heard the debut.

Lyrically, the debut is less about societal problems and joblessness and much more about emotional struggles. Generally faster tempos, somewhat shorter songs, production is a tad different I think.

That was accurate Mars. Schmaltz is better

GSTB is competent but totally unspecial imo, this and Shmaltz are where it's at

I dig the choruses on Shmaltz much better. They flowed well with the songs and the climaxes made towards them. A lot of the refrains here had nice/memorable phrases, but they were a bit of a mouthful at times and sounded awkward in context.

think i like the debut more than this too this really really suffers from every non single being in the same key

it’s a shame they basically watered down schmaltz to make this album
haven’t revisited this in a few weeks

I'm trying to listen to this because you all ranted and raved but it sounds like it wants me to be depressed and I don't need to be pushed in that direction anymore thank you but no thank you.
