The Hives really went downhill huh

Or maybe they are not that popular beyond eastern Europe or Europe in general.

The vines, though....

More of a feeling I have that I think Green Day purposely lowered expectations here to make shows more fun. If the band doesn't feel like they're trying to force new "serious" songs on the audience it loosens the atmosphere, and some of these songs are still great live anyway. I really like some of these songs. And I think they pulled hard to wacky dgaf because going back to serious mode with Revolution Radio may not have been working well for the band-audience dynamic at this stage in the band's career, far after the band's peak popularity. By 2004, shows were already impacted full of bangers and omitting great live songs, might as well keep flinging random shit at the wall at this point to make it more interesting while preserving the original setlist regulars.

I've been watching many live shows on youtube. It's been interesting seeing Billie change over three decades.

This is one of those bands that I can't even start to understand how they made it to the top. I don't see why they would be such a hit, except for, of course, American Idiot, which features a few good tracks, but still it isn't that good of an album. I've been listening to them lately, and I find that every single song sounds the same as the previous one. I can only listen to, like, 7 songs of them and actually enjoy it.

About this album, it is an absolute loss of time to hear it. Luckily, it is only 26 minutes long.

Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod are excellent records overall, better than American Idiot.

I enjoy half of the songs on this album. They are catchy pop tunes.
