It’s true that Bloober doesn’t have the best track record, but that honestly doesn’t mean much to me. I’m not an Ubisoft fan either but the latest Prince of Persia game they released is excellent

The team that made that new prince of persia game is basically their A team. They made the modern Rayman games.
Bloober is really good at making an unsettling atmosphere and their games are graphically sound, most people just have issue with their storytelling (mostly in The Medium, the game that caught Konamis attention in the first place) I don't think they're an amazing studio but SH fans have incredibly high standards while Konami do not.

Konami has a hilariously shit track record these past 20 or so years, it’s undeniable, but I’m not gonna just write this one off. I need to see more. What I did see looked surprisingly good. Definitely some problem areas, but a lot of the blowback seems overly nitpicky

Yeah, it'll probably be decent enough but I've been seeing people bicker about Angela's jawline so discussion about it will probably be even more unbearable and stupid after it comes out.
A Short Message also didn't instill much hope in me.

Short Message writing was platinum CRAP. Beyong laughably bad, straight to unbearlable. Insulting, literally had to stop playing it.
But for what i've seen, the SH2 remake will respect the original's writing.

Holy shit the gameplay video made me soooo much more hyped for this than the teasers. If this runs at a stable 60fps it's going to be a dream come true exploring the town.
The fact that Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka are on board was always going to be enough for me to give it an honest chance, but now I'm genuinely excited and even cautiously optimistic about the quality of the experience. Which is setting myself up for pain in line with everything Konami since like SH4 but SH fans are nothing if not resilient lol.

I was never worried about the people that made SH before like Ito or Yamaoka, I'm worried about everyone else.

how could you be, everything they do is gold

Some of Akira's outsourced work is lackluster, but Short Message music was largely good and comforting in a ironic way. Ito I'm surprised never moved on from Konami at all.

anyone who is interested, there's a game called Post Trauma coming out around oct-nov (hopefully) that's very inspired in classic Silent Hill. Looks pretty cool! check it out.

4 hours into the remake and it rules

Was looking dodgy for a while there, but glad it turned out good.
