I've just realized they worked with the same producer from IB. It's apparent that he's an big part of why the band sounds so revamped now. He's the Trombino of their late career and I hope they continue to work with him.

All of this love is making me so happy. They absolutely pulled out another stunner ten albums in. How on earth do you do that apart from having am unrivaled passion for your craft?

I just had a moment with Congratulations. Literally got chills at the transition to the outro. Might have moved into a tie for #1 song on the album with Delivery. This whole record continues to grow on me with every listen, even a week and 12+ experiences in.

Yeah I love this album so much

Congratulations is their best closer since 23. Yep, I think it's surpassed Pol Roger for me, and that was already in my top 3 JEW closers. The groove in the chorus is delicious.
Yeah, stuff it, I'm 5ing this. "Recommit" just clicked with me too. I love every minute of this thing.

This is silly good, I think you undersold it in the comments here Sowing, it may be concise and not particularly stretching for Jimmy but it's absolute killer from top to bottom. Faves currently: Surviving, Delivery, All The Way (sounds even better in the context of the album somehow), Diamond.

Interested to see what the average rating will be for this one. I feel a bump to 4.5 coming on.

I was hoping they'd go final form and just give me Appleseed Cast's Two Conversations 2.0 so a little disappointing they went the more mainstream route instead of fully embracing the post-rock sound they were toying with in the last two albums.

I love this album but I'd kill for a progressive Jimmy album entirely in the vein of 6-7 minute movements like Congratulations

Awesome! I'll probably pick it up in-store if I happen upon it. Kind of curious about the packaging.

The booklet is just a simple black and white lyric booklet with a photo of the band on the centre page. Nothing too fancy. I'm just excited to dig into the lyrics here.

since Sowing is remaining obstinately objective on this I'm taking his place and declaring this the best Jimmy album for roughly the next month or two

Last 2 tracks are fucking stupendous.
I don't know where my rating will end up. I seem to be on the lower end here but I think I'm just weird with my Jimmy ratings. Sowing says he feels he is biased towards higher ratings because he loves them. I'm probably biased towards lower ratings because I also love them, but in the opposite sense that I have unfair standards for what I expect of my favourite band. It's like parents, when they don't care who swears but if it's their own child that's swearing they'll get a bollocking.

so glad I waited for a FLAC rip as well - vocals and drums sound absolutely tremendous on this album. the guitars are pretty dirty sounding but that's surely deliberate cos they sounded the same on Kimmel. basically JMJ crushed it and I want a trilogy with him

I think I prefer the more straightforward tracks like "Diamond" and "One Mil"
