Gospel are considerably different, they'd have to be for me to enjoy them as much as I do. I've only heard a handful of things that could (potentially) be classified as screamo and this is my 2nd favourite release so far, whereas I have The Moon is a Dead World 4.5d.

"I seriously do not get the hype for this. Maybe because I am not that into screamo"

Screamo is a very hit or miss genre for me, but this is a fantastic, honest record that just nails the sound. I don't know why you'd dig it though it you don't like the genre. Seems kinda obvious but maybe I'm missing something.

yeah I agree with con, I don't see people being in denial over others not liking this album (and there have been some pretty good critiques)

"Screamo is a very hit or miss genre for me"

guess this nails it. But give me one last try: what songs would you recommend as kind of a bottle opener?

I think this is definitely good but maybe I'm growing off of this genre

@Eclipse I can rec some emo depending on your tastes. The issue I get with screamo moreso than the broad category of emo in general is that scream songs can easily blend together. Depending on the production/the band's presentation/etc., all one can really perceive is the same chaotic song over and over, save for maybe one melodic riff that can be picked out. I really enjoy State Faults, but I can see others finding them to be monotonous after some time. This didn't 'wow' me to the extent it has for other people to be honest, since it seems basically like the same material as their previous effort. Strong material, granted, but nothing game-changing.

Also, Gospel is one of those bands that seems to dip in and out of scream and emo classifications, and regardless of how one describes it, they're always wrong lol. Gospel is just Gospel I suppose.

Calling this screamo is like calling Radiohead alternative. It just doesn’t do it justice.
