"thats also the reason why they actually gave this album a chance"

These kinds of comments are so annoying. Like you know for a fact that all people who gave this a low or low-ish rating just didn't try enough or came here to troll.

Low ratings make sense, this is a very slow and draining album so it can go one of two ways.

probably as presumptuous as assuming everyone who likes this is a lovesick moron ;)

no but you’re right, it is condescending of me. i do still want to encourage repeat listens tho; this is pretty draining at first for something thats only about 30 minutes long

As long as its a girl playing sad music, ill eat it up! Except for Tomberlin. And Marissa Nadler. And Julien Baker. And Camp Cope. And Lucy Dacus...

Wait a minute! Its almost like them being female and playing sad music didnt automatically get me on board at all!

Don't forget Tiny Vipers, Flower Face, Sea Oleena - so many sad girls singing with guitars who bore me to tears

i liked Flower Face a decent amount at first, but that wore off pretty quickly. nice record but i have no desire to go back to it again.

idk, maybe you want something more? i just settled with a 4 because it's pretty and i like what she does with her voice. that's pretty much all i want out of music

This record sounds like the most incredible spring /autumn afternoon. The sky is awash in a golden hue and the leaves are falling around you. This is far more than a mere sad girl with a guitar. It's almost like saying The Bends is nothing but an average 90s rock album.

I associate that aesthetic more so with Wheel than this album tbh, buuuut it’s pretty apt for both albums and Laura in general (excluding Cocksure)

this wasnt as sad as i was led to believe. it definitely has the blues, but the way people were talking about it made it sound like it was going to be devastating.
