sonic bro they definitely did.....caught em in st. pete and sat in the 3rd row dead center....what a perspective man......also got a petrucci guitar pick
did the meet and greet and was very disappointed with it.....first, everyone lines up for the photo and it is quick....so quick, you don't even have time to really say anything to them
then you get back in line for the autograph session....you were allowed to have 2 things signed by the band so I brought a vinyl copy of the new record and had them sign it. they also gave you a Room 137 themed drum head which is pretty cool so i had them sign that too....the folks that arrange these things keep you moving along so at best, you can make a quick statement to each member as they're signing....petrucci commented on my Yankee hat as he is obviously a fan and said "we need to get healthy" (yanks are decimated with injuries right now)
the fucking thing is so fast, they should just call it a 'greet', because you're not meeting anyone!
band was tight as fuck, and labrie put forth a great effort

I feel like meet and greets are generally shitshows though. Have you ever done one for a band where you actually just got to chill with them and chat?

negative my friend
although i did meet labrie on his solo tour about 15 years ago...it was in a small club and he was hanging out in a room with a bunch of us just casually bullshitting and taking pictures

Figures. Getting to watch bands in tiny clubs and then chatting with them at the merch table or at the bar is so much chiller than big venues with meet and greets.

I still don't like the production. This record would connect with me way more if it didn't sound so digital / overproduced
|
| |
It's a great album, but I agree if it sounded a bit warmer it would be even better

I think the production is great here, easily miles better than the last three.

That's the price I pay for being a pirate I guess

I listen to this via Google Play, but it is the production that is the problem, there is a clear difference between bad kpbs and legit bad production. I honestly like the self-titled's production most of their last three records

But the s/t's production sucked major ass. The only good thing about that production is the audible bass

The first 30 seconds of Fall into the light are great. I don't really listen to the rest now

I thought the beginning of Fall Into The Light was rsther generic metallica-esque riffing. Not bad, just...

@titan: nah just that song I meant. Though I haven't really listened to the whole album in a bit. Yeah I used to like the mid section, even if it was a generic DT section, but haven't had the desire to listen in a while
@kalk: I hear ya, but it's still a fun riff, plus I like the way the drums kick in
