I'm finding this a lot more varied and experimental than tts or sempiternal

It really is. This is much better than TTS. I think the best moments here are also better than some parts of Semipternal. But I still feel the nu-Metal moments on here are worse than some of Sempiternal

Honestly, what I'd love to see is a mixture of this, the more atmospheric side of Sempiternal, and the more industrial-tinged tracks from Underoath's Erase Me without the poppy hooks. The hooks are nice to have, but I'd say that the song structures are what still manage to bog some tracks down on this for me.

Think a BMTH album that can go from a song like Nihilist Blues to something like Deathbeds or And the Snakes Start to Sing to something like No Frame.

Yes. Definitely mix this with the more electronic side of Sempiternal and it would be pretty killer

Another band I would hope they'd take notes from are the Deftones. Instead of relying on verse-chorus-verse they should go wherever the vibe takes them.

i think you're over-estimating their creative abilities a bit

Nah, I definitely think they can do it. Most of their issues are structural.

Disagree, most of their issues are quality.

Album Rating: 4.5
And I think most of their quality issues stem from the fact that they're still trying to keep the standard conventions in place with their structures, which is why the best tracks on here are the most unconventional. Nihilist Blues and the closer are especially in that race.

Nah, definitely agree with Agent. Yeah, a lot of the material here takes plenty of notes from modern pop but the execution here is just leagues better than what you find in the radio. Imo of course. Now they just need to expand.

Yeah for real Wonder, I'm hoping to see greater expansion of the weirder tracks than the likes of Medicine and Mother Tongue, but you've got it.

Same. Nihilist Blues, In The Dark, Ouch, I apologize if you feel something. Your thought of them taking notes from Deftones would be fucking phenomenal. Could make for a record that could serve as their best for sure.

For real, even if it comes off as Deftones-lite it'll be damn good.

I like most of the songs here but I’m not sure if they really work as an album. Gotta give a few more listens
