Demon is "lit, fam" as the kids would say. He is a queen that slays, yas.

I finding this surprisingly accessible on first listen for a behemoth record. I don't think one of their albums has pulled me in right away since maybe Demigod. Really dig this so far.

"Listening to this again, it's amazing but The Satanist is definitely better"

Yeah agreed. First listen had me thinking "damnnnn yo this is actually as good The Satanist" until I realized it wasn't. Nonetheless, this is still a strong effort on their behalf.

I love everything Behemoth has done and this is no exception. Definitely a more diverse range on this album but will not top The Satanist for mine. I'm pretty happy overall as when a band puts out an album like The Satanist you just worry about how they are going to come anywhere near matching it. They've done a pretty stellar job here.

The spoken word section on In Absence ov Light was really cool and pretty impactful in a way I didn't know Behemoth could be, but on this Nergal seems to just constantly want to slap artsy shit on his tracks when it doesn't make any sense (cringy child choirs, (purposefully) shitty mixes and very mediocre clean vox) that end up fucking with the pacing of the album

I don't recall thinking the mix was bad, but the children's choir I think may have missed the mark between idea and execution. There were a few standout tracks on this, but as a whole it had much less of an impact than The Satanist. The atmosphere doesn't compare for me.

I like how they used a lot of made up words in the track listing

Overall, pretty fun album. Kiddy shit sucked, but what can you do...

Revisited The Satanist and yeah it's much better but people are underrating this. Only bad part is the clean singing in Sabbath Mater, wtf was that.
