Wtf Colton “Size of the Moon” is easily my favorite Pinegrove song, might even go so far as to say it’s one of my favorite songs ever.

Respirate is so good. I argued this in the Marigold review but this is not music that needs refinement. Hall is such a strong songwriter that anything they release will be fresh and exciting to me

Hall is a solid songwriter and the band know how to play with one another very well. It's an element that makes their live shows such a treat. The chemistry is palpable.

respirate recalls counting crows a lot haha, which reminds me of the cover evan did on a livestream a few years ago where he played 'a long december' and it was amazing.

i do hate the corona lyric (much like the youtube one in orange), but apart from that the song has certainly grown on me too. the drum change up in the second verse & the organ in the last chorus are great.

Love it. Respirate is so lovely and a big grower, the phrasing is kinda odd. Love the corona line actually! Obvious in a good way. A pelican / I crash against the wind feeling elegant is also very pretty.

I just listened to the early livestream of the album and I'd say it's comfortably better than Marigold, & slightly better than Skylight, but I've only listened twice haha.

There was a livestream of the new album before release for members of the pinegrove fan Facebook group, and Evan was in the chat talking through the songs & things. mentioned they’re gonna release a b-sides album called ‘everything besides’ in 2023 which is pretty cool.

'I'd say it's comfortably better than Marigold, & slightly better than Skylight'

Great news (although, I love Marigold). Started listening to Habitat but it was so good I turned it off; I can wait a day.
