"Everything Belongs" and "Hold Up a Light" are complete garbage. The rest of the album is stellar.

Yeah I'm waiting for "Everything Belongs" to grow on me, it's just alright. "Hold Up a Light" is pretty good even though it's repetitive af.

Haven't commented on a review in a while but I just wanted to say I really like what you have to say. There are some criticisms and questions here that I'd never really considered as strongly as you seem to have. Great write-up, I am interested to see how you will feel about their next album.

Guys a few synth lines and like 5 seconds of a harp on one song really doesnt make this that experimental :/

This is at least better than that new Underoath album at least.

I know how stupid this is, but the fact that someone whose musical opinions I respect, like Sowing, genuinely enjoys this album actually has a little bit of positive influence on my opinion of this album.
It’s like the exact opposite of when I watch a Needle Drop review of an album that I like, but the review points out some subpar stuff that I hadn’t noticed until I’d watched said video review.

I had one listen and wasn't offended or impressed. I'm gonna go backwards thru their discography and see how I feel, Halfway thru To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere and I forgot how good that album was and how much energy was there. That is kinda what is missing from this one, also Dustin's vocals somehow seem smoother than a couple years ago which seems odd.

This is the first time I've been disappointed by a Thrice release in the 16 years I've been listening to them. I'm not sure what Dustin was thinking with some of these lyrics and Hold Up a Light might be the worst song they've ever put out that wasn't a B-Side. I hope it grows on me but so far it's been the opposite.

i'm super into this on an objective basis, but for whatever fucking reason i've gotten onto a random Travis Scott kick this week and i'm having a hard time appreciating any music that's not Rodeo or Astroworld right now
give me a week or so and i'll be in a full-blown Thrice kick, but yall just gotta let me get this trap out of my system

Am i the only one who thinks the production is shite?
