I'll admit I actually like Figure Number Five and Stabbing the Drama to an extent, and I'd say they're worth checking out eventually but not essential. Sworn to a Great Divide is just dull, though

Agreed. I've always liked Stabbing the Drama and Figure Number Five has some cool songs but tbh I don't remember too much of that album. The Panic Broadcast was pretty good too.
But yeah Sworn is definitely their worst.

The Panic Broadcast is actually one of my favorites, but that's partially nostalgia. first Soilwork song I ever heard was Two Lives Worth of Reckoning when it was a free download on Last.fm, and then I bought the album a few days later.
plus it's easily their catchiest album and I'm a sucker for that kind of thing

Yeah it's definitely catchy as hell. I really dig stuff like Let this River Flow. Honestly though I haven't paid as much attention to that album as I probably should have. There's a lot of songs on there I don't really remember how they sound.
First album I heard was A Predator's Portrait. The Analyst, and then Bastard Child came up in my playlist. Got hooked and grabbed all their albums after that.

The Panic Broadcast is definitely worth another listen. there's a lot of songs on there I've grown to appreciate more over time. you can really hear the seeds of The Living Infinite coming through in a few tracks.
A Predator's Portrait is definitely top 3 Soilwork for me. I prefer Natural Born Chaos slightly more though, but that's probably because it was the first old-school Soilwork I checked out and I love the overall vibe of the album. they never did anything with a vibe like that before or since.

I like how we turned this into a Soilwork thread lol
But yeah I'm about to jam The Panic Broadcast and probably most of their discog today. A Predator's Portrait has always been my favorite but Natural Born Chaos is just as good. I'd probably like it better if the former wasn't the album that introduced me to them.
"they never did anything with a vibe like that before or since." < Definitely agree with that.

The Genuine Tone is amazing. The melody that starts at ~1:45 gives me chills. Also that opening riff to Memory.
