This album has grown on me a good bit. And, the fact that this is Jeff's worst solo album says a lot about the quality of his music post BTMI.

It's been good. But this record has me worried and I wouldn't say any of the solo stuff holds a candle to the best BTMI. We Cool definitely has some BTMI-level songs though. (I don't like WORRY as much as most people do, though it's great)

We Cool? and Worry are above and beyond top tier Rosenstock projects. This album... not so much.

went back and reworked the first two paragraphs because this album deserved better lol, might give the other two a shot at something a bit better if i get the chance tonight or tomorrow. point is, this review is p much the only thing of merit i’ve done (on here i mean lol) this year, so i might as well clean it up hahah crucify me w/e idc i think i get my points across much better now

This one was a grower for me, and I'm not the hugest Rosenstock fan either. I latched onto Powerlessness almost immediately, which might be my SOTY, but the rest of the tracks just took some time. It was actually the video for 9/10 that inspired me to revisit this thing and bump it to a 4.0. I still might go back to a 3.5 though simply because it's not as good as Worry.

this album ain't 5he best but rosenstock so it's ok

Is this still AOTY for the many people that claimed that in... January 5th?

competes head to head with the new wonder years album, but yeah, it's still gunning for the top spot.

No, Rolo Tomassi and Aviations released stuff.

The Aviations album is interesting. It went under the radar though.

i mean, i see and subsequently treat we cool?, WORRY., and now POST- as more of this trilogy of jeff’s solo efforts, loosely linked by the punctuation; but these albums all have similar tendencies sonically and lyrically, but just from the start of we cool? all the way through the end of POST- is jeff starting from the light and gradually by each track through each album getting more thematically darker as well as wider-scoped. i know it’s not prob not what jeff even intended, but the beauty of his work is that it’s all in the eye of the beholder anyways; i guess if you need a comparison, think of like the same transition that a group on the other side of the music scene — like Injury Reserve or something is doing (at the same exact time too i might add lol) and are getting darker stylistically with each track through each album. It’s like Jeff’s records (and Injury Reserve too ig if u wanna hold onto that comparison lmao) all flow seamlessly together from start to finish, chronologically, with jeff going off the deep end finally with “Let The Win,” and idk if that’s planned by him, or if the stars just kinda aligned — but it truly makes the listening experience much more fulfilling. at least in my perspective i guess, but that’s just my two (or twenty five lol) cents
