I consider No Heroes to be their worst post-2000's record because most of the song writing feels half baked, like they didn't sit on the ideas long enough. That said, it still has several songs that I adore and the record is still a 4 for me. If this is at least a 4, then I'm satisfied.
Kinda bummed to hear it leaked. The closer this got to it's release date, the more I wanted it to make the mark. Ah well.

To be fair I'm pretty damn shocked it made it as long as it did, even as late in the day as it did today considering people received vinyl copies this morning
My buddy was kind enough to give me his download code that came with his vinyl, anybody that wants a dropbox link hmu

yeah I actually thought it would get all the way there. just missed it. i personally don't see a huge deal with listening to leaks as long as you bought the album, but at the same time it sucks for the band that someone would just give out their music completely for free

i would love to hear what made jacob pull out all of these different vocal styles out of no where, and then sound just as savage, if not more so, than he ever has before. this isn't the heaviest or best converge album, but it might be the most fun to listen to. i can see a lot of you not liking it because it has to be their "lightest" release

I dunno if that was a swipe at me but lol, I've 2 vinyl pre-orders and bought 2 shirts a couple days ago, they get an irresponsible amount of money from me
Anyways yeah Bannon's vocal diversity on what I've heard from this so far is just tremendous

oh definitely not at you, just people who don't buy music at all. I bought a few copies on vinyl plus one of the bundle, and am seeing them 4 times this year in total haha - i think they got enough for me (and some others) to listen to it early
|
| |
Ah okay, I'm a bit cranky anyways haha, but yeah I don't like/feel comfortable listening to leaks unless I've at least pre-ordered the album
4 times is wild haha, I've never seen them, maybe I'll try to on this tour

yeah I had never seen them before this year. I got to see them on that tour with Amenra and Neurosis, and then I moved to NYC and caught them with Gojira. in December they're playing at a bar twice and I got tickets to both lol

I wonder if they’ll ever do a closer better than wretched world, reptilian I like but it’s kinda middle of the road as far their closers go

Straight up post-hardcore on a few songs here and I personally love it, hovering between a 4-4.5 for me, I can tell its definitely take quite a few listens to get a full grasp on it, think it's way better than All We Love tho

TOMBU should have been the closer imo

^people said the same thing about title track from All We Love
I don't like/feel comfortable listening to leaks unless I've at least pre-ordered the album
generally the only time i don't listen to a leak is when i've ordered the album. like to wait to have the physical product (usually wax) in my hands so i can pour over the booklet while spinnin for the first time.
didnt order dusk in us as i opted to go for a shit-ton of rare japanese vinyl instead. however still considering getting a copy eventually cuz of dat shiny shiny cover.
then again first playthru i was a bit underwhelmed so maybe it was good i didnt preorder :/

So this is crazy, I ended up ordering a copy from Deathwish and got two packages in the mail today and one of them was the friends and family copy limited to 100. i don’t know how or why that happened but it’s awesome

yeah, you should bubs, as freddiedelaney said, there are a lot of post-hardcore moments on this. Bannon's vocal delivery gets even more diversified on some of the other songs too. it's a really fun album to listen to, and the band is making one of their most creative jumps here, it really sounds like nothing they've put out before - maybe some axe to fall stuff here and there but this is d i f f e r e n t for them.
