I used to like a few songs off of Ember and Ascendancy as a teenager. The first song off of Ember sticks out as in my memory as one that I used to jam a lot. Even at the time I knew the band was limited but thought that they would mature into a better a band, mostly because they claimed to be influenced by bands that I liked (melodeath classics, Opeth). Then they bought into their own hype and just released a bunch of god awful tripe. Can't imagine them releasing anything even half decent at this point.

Ascendancy is probably their most overrated album. It’s solid but sounds terribly dated nowadays.

Almost all of those metalcore scene releases from 2003-06 sound very dated now but I enjoyed some of them at the time. I agree though, Ascendancy was very by the numbers.
