New York to Smoking Section is basically a perfect run of songs imo
|
| |
Smoking Section is kinda underrated but all her other albums had such amazing closers that it's a tough ballpark hmm

not her best closer for sure but a perfect way to end this particular album I think, especially coming off Slow Disco (top 10 Annie song)

Hang on Me* to Smoking Section is basically a perfect run of songs imo
|
| |
Yeah I vibe with this. Hang On Me + Smoking would have been kind of useless anywhere else but they're perfect as bookends

2017 did not have a better pop album than this right here.
|
| |
I mean, Melodrama?
Also, rogue pick but Nana Kitade's Violet Blaze is one of the most indecently catchy commercial pop albums I can recall hearing

Shit, forgot Lorde's came out the same year. Didn't know Antonoff hit a double homer that year.
They're neck and neck tbh. Depending on the day I could go either way. Lorde's is more of a sad girl album than this.

Just listened to Make-Believe and it does indeed go off. Interesting.
|
| |
Antonoff is a busy chap what can I say
Aw yeah Make Believe is fun but the run from Borrowed Time thru Nasty Radio is the best damn rush of the year

I'll have to give it a listen but I have strong doubts it'll top either of those two titans.
|
| |
Hmm maybe not but it's the kind of album best not taken too seriously ;] Annie and Lorde are both pretty >:[ in comparison
|

with the No Time to Die song just released, it got me thinking on who else could make a cool Bond theme. I reckon Annie could make a killer tune, something like Smoking Section and she even used the chord progression in All My Stars Aligned from her first album
