the title track rips hard

[2] tbh

There's no way this is a 1.5 but there's also no way I'll ever actually listen to this again to find out for sure so

Great album but needed more rock and roll party songs from here and now, dark horse and all the right reasons about girls, I can't rate it above those 3 classics but it's close
Here and now, all the right reasons, dark horse/feed the machine, the long road. Top 5 in that order

The title track is dope.

I was very surprised by this

Just realized that this is my most viewed review under this account. Definitely wouldn't have imagined that my most popular review would be for a fuckin' Nickelback album, but here we are

nickelback > nirvana

Crazy how it's been five years since we got a new Nickelback album
But this one was pretty promising, as well as pretty metallic compared to a lot of their other work, so I'm curious about how the new one will sound
|
| |
Ew this band
|
| |
I remember this one having quite a few good tracks tbf.
|
| |
I enjoyed a couple of their earlier albums, guiltily. Everything since though... not so much
|
| |
Not so sure about the album as a whole, but if you have a soft spot for heavy butt rock - and I'm guilty as charged - the title track and "The Betrayal (Act III)" are solid bangers
|
| |
Act III didn't have to go so hard, but it does.

Just jammed this again the other day, and it's still pretty decent. As weird as it sounds, I'll always have some nostalgic memories associated with the record because of when it came out. That was right when I got to my first duty station in the Navy, and right after I finished my first underway. Good times

This was definitely their best since The State. Honestly this album kinda illustrates my biggest issue with Nickelback which that when they want to, they can actually make some great bangers. But Radio is what sold so...I guess good on them for getting the bag.

It's a common trend for a lot of bands in the radio rock sphere, honestly.
Take Skillet, for example. They've proven to be competent musicians and can write half decent music when they want to, but ever since Comatose they've just gradually devolved into the miserable state that we now know them to be, only ever chasing the quick radio rock $$$.
It also doesn't help that John Cooper has completely gone off the deep end.
