Album Rating: 1.5
Certainly one of the most mediocre pieces of music ever created.

Like it has no specific or cohesive sound at all. It's like they just wanted to try making different types of songs and just released it all as an album

I've never felt that way at all. The album cover kinda describes the sound perfectly. It's a lot more hollow sounding and toned down overall compared to their first 3 albums. The only song that stands out is Given Up because it's like one of their earlier aggressive songs, the rest on here are pretty mellow.

Given Up May be my all time favorite LP song. As someone who has grappled with drug addiction for the past twenty years, Chester fucking NAILS IT. The despair, the anguish, the frustration, the anger, the self hate, the guilt, the pain of withdrawals...this song may be his finest hour.

this is so unbelievably inconsistent in tone

It definitely has that going against it. Some songs are great, some are eh. Time is all over the place.
In Pieces is incredibly underrated.

Sorry but I hate every song here, shiiiit that new divide song on the transformers movie was better than anything here

If they played with the track order they could have probably made it make a lot more sense/flow better.

yea plus throw no roads left and across the line on here instead of like, hands held high and in between or something
this is where i wish i had like .1 ratings cos this would be like a 3.2-3.3 cos i feel like a 3 is too low but a 3.5 is definitely too high

i won a newfound fondness of linkin park after watching the music video for crawling yesterday.
idk why, that video and song are both pretty terrible.

"It's like they just wanted to try making different types of songs"
wtf is wrong with that?
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
because none of them flow well with each other so the album is kind of a mess?

I always liked this quite a bit, but I completely agree with the inconsistency of the tone. It's like there are two or three different album ideas on here. It almost plays like a compilation
In between is definitely one of their weakest tracks and Wake is useless, but I atleast like every other song on here. The little things give you away, What I've Done, Bleed it out, In Pieces and Given up are some of their best imo

i dont like either bleed it out or given up much besides the bridge really. aside from those, hands held high, and sorta in between (chorus is nice rest is eh), the album's great. i guess i should probably bump

The bridge for Given Up is killer

I really like the bass tone in some of these songs. Too bad Phoenix' playing in LP has always been so boring. He used to be pretty good in his earlier band

Album Rating: 3.5
yea he's pretty weak on a lot of lp stuff. not helped by the fact he's basically inaudible on the first two albums
