lmao that's actually pretty realistic
makes me think about the parody vapor album by ALL CAPS and alt key codex, especially the track "Vaporwave? More like gayporwave", which just features gay porn audio put on top of a smooth jazz track

In vehicles, some personal radio shit similar to fallout, or in venues yeah.
I think it would be a nice touch..
I guess they gotta try to imagine what futuristic tunes would sound like or have some explanation as to why no one listens to music anymore or no new music was created after 2020?

they would probably also have to imagine new scenes or the advancements of all the current genres/scenes. Jeez it's hard to make a soundtrack for cyberpunk
Or maybe they'd let you have your own music inside the game via the in-game vehicle radio you mentioned.
Or if they decided to go with the "music disappeared in 2077", that would either:
a)cause people like me(or the opposite) to overthink it and get triggered
b)expose them as lazy sound designers(only have to compose for the general game instead of the general game + the virtual population)
c)give new dynamics for their story(basic starting point would be that the government attempts to reduce everything in the population from scientific knowledge to cultural wealth)

Just gave this a re-listen; I still don't get why this is hailed as the paragon of the dream punk genre. This is bordering on a 2.5 for me.
This release is much better Blade Runner-core: https://hiraeth-records.bandcamp.com/album/building-a-better-world
