JID got the smoothest flow in the game rn ngl but his potential hasn't been reached...yet
|
| |
Yea that madlib beat is really great
Cole is overrated but I really can’t hate too much at the end of the day solely because everything about Family and Loyalty is incredible and I have to respect that.

| |
Smoothest flow in the game is an exaggeration imo but yeah he has potential

Noname Tierra and JID all got that butter flow but idk man something about JID'S lyrical talent and rhythm just gets me...
Jcole I've always respected for that too he seems at least honest in that sense

| |
I do like JID's voice and flow even if he sometimes sounds like a prepubescent kendrick but his beat selection is hit and miss for me.
|
| |
He steals the show on 1993, which is a perfect track all around tbqh.

JID is Young Thug but not as good or diverse. He can actually write lyrics though I'll give him that lol

JID does have whack beat selections esp his earlier stuff just doesn't compliment his style. Idk how u could say young thug is more talented than him but diversity in sound I can see the argument for. I feel like they are two completely different artists and i listen to both but for different reasons usually

Circling back to the noname j. cole drama and it's kind of ironic that given cole's lyrics on Snow On Tha Bluff noname hit him with a patronizing/dismissive 1 minute diss. Snow On Tha Bluff is like, the most pussyfooted, respectful beef rap ever made, it was almost a cry for dialogue and understanding, and noname is just like completely flippant in return.
The cheeky side of me loves it, but there's another side of me that's like, "these two could legit have an extremely constructive conversation"
|
| |
I'm just a Young Thug fanboy lol, I think he does that weird melodic style of rapping that's popular nowadays better than anyone
|
| |
I'll say this, for a style of rapping/hip-hop that feels like genocide on my braincells Young Thug is definitely one of the least worstest from the little i've heard.

I think that's why Noname felt bad about her flippant response like 3 days after it came out Pots...I really loved it too especially since Jcole kinda reminded me of MGK Vs Em with his like complimenting / dissing in the same bar type in between shit. Do think overall they both handled it pretty well at the end of the day hopefully coming out of it a bit more aware of themselves
|
| |
The fact that cole just flat-out reposted her response track is pretty cool
|

Hopefully azaelia banks gets involved, shits getting too wholesome

Yeah he didn't say shit either just did it right away no added Bs just respect for her. It was a weird like beef in the midst of times when (I think to both of their points) people should be joining together and doing as much as they can for the movement in their own ways.

"But JID is like, the only comparable rapper to Kendrick"
No fuckin way. JID isnt even touching Saba.

ooh seen Saba live and I'm gonna have to say ur still wrong but it's close between the two. Honestly I think Smino better than Saba some days
|
| |
JID has a more interesting voice to me than Saba but Saba's production is more consistent or something. JID sounds like Kendrick and Saba sounds like everyone from Mick Jenkins to Chance to Alex Wiley depending on the track so I dunno not really gonna die on this hill. I haven't heard any highly original north american hip-hop in a very long time, not really stanning anyone.
|
| |
If I had to throw one name out it might be Myke Bogan
but uk hip-hop is a lot more exciting to me these days
