The first track from the solo album is beautiful. Thanks for putting me on to this Twig!

Mid Air is great yea. Would love a new album but don't have my hopes up. I at least hope Prefab will get to theirs some time, as we were due for it last year...

"have you heard their bonus tracks? Thoughts on "There Was a Girl", "The Wires are Down" and "Here Come the Bluebird"?"
all awesome songs. i have a bias towards there was a girl because of my peace at last love but they're all exceptional. i've really gotta spend more time with the high bonus tracks.
in june i bought both versions of the happines cd single for the 4 total b sides that they didnt put on the reissue. theyre so good.
i think my FAVORITE loosie of theirs though has to be regret or the second act. those 2 are soooooo freaking good

Cd freaks in the house! It seems peace at last and high are not easily available tho. My next purchase will be mid air for sure tho. Damn, I would love to have hats on vinyl.

Peace At Last is actually the only album of theirs I’ve got on cd haha. I found it in person for $3 but I think all their albums are pretty easy to get online thru like discogs.
And yeah I think I’ll upload the b sides from the Happiness singles to youtube cause the uploads already on there are all old and in poor quality. They’re so good though can’t pick a fav

Finnished listening to Mid Air now and it is effin beautiful stuff. Gives me some Bill Fay vibes for some reason, but Paul def got his own unique style. Could just image him playing those songs late at night in some classy jazz-esque bar
If you upload them to youtube youre doing some nobel prize worthy stuff, my man!

Mid air didn't seem to grab me the same as any of Blue Nile's stuff. I just wish there was a little more going on. But there is definitely heart put into the project, and Paul sounds great.

Yeah man. I feel like the album is kind of improv or demo-esque. Many of the songs doesnt seem quite finnished per-se but it gives up such nice vibes when in the right mood
Kind of wanting to reviewing it cuz it really deserves a review and thread of its own

That's a good way to describe it. It was fine, but outside of the title track, it didn't grab me like I wanted.

Yeah not memorable or any real hook to mention but it is just so nice sounding

Much of Mid Air was created as sort of a way to cope with a close friend's death. He didn't go into it as though he was making an album, after a while he just had a bunch of songs and realized he had made one
Kinda reflects on how the album sounds too. Def gotta revisit it soon

That explains a lot! Maybe the songs turned out the way they did because he just needed to get the emotions out without over-developing the songs
Yeah thanks for the rec on that one!

everything about this band has landed with me the right way, including this review. went from a passive first listen to an on-the-couch/lights off/headphones on in the same night. debut is even better
