Can't really get into this. I don't know why.
Good review though.

Transcentience brings a nice change of pace to the album. I liked the simpler and overall slower approach of that track compared to the inital faster, and heavy on electronics tunes. What comes after it might be the best of the record. The Glass Bridge, The Brain Dance and Apeirophobia are awesome.
But really, there isn't really any filler here. Arithmophobia, Inner Assasins, Ectogenesis and Backpfeifengesicht are also great. They just don't deviate from their usual formula. What they seem to be doing here is fan service, where The Joy Of Motion tried to change things up a bit.

This sounds so ridiculously robotic to me. It's like all wankery and no substance, unlike their s/t and TJOM.

@Mongi I get the exact opposite impression. I don't really care for their earlier material for that exact reason, but this one strikes me as more organic.

Exactly.

Those ones I mentioned just feel less calculated to me and even have more chill, emotional songs like Physical Education.

A lot of this does sound robotic to me, but in the best way possible.

Good response. I think this requires more experienced ears than the ones of average joes who want their immediate and pretty little hooks, like the ears of a musician or a person who plays an instrument to really appreciate what is presented here.
