I will say that I'm at least a Magma defender because I appreciated the change in direction, as well as the melancholic atmosphere it had. But Fortitude was quite underwhelming... there are still some standout cuts here and there, but I don't really like how boring and watered down things have gotten. And sure, Magma was watered down too, but - as I said - at least that could be attributed to the overall vibe it was going for

Yup I still listen to Magma once in a while and it's got some definite jams. I heard Fortitude once and didn't feel it.

These days I am attempting to love Mars as much as other people.

But this one will never be topped for me.

Fortitude is their weakest album easily, Link, Mars and this are their peak, far and beyond

Mars is the grower album for sure [2]

FMTS was my first Gojira in general, but my brother and I didn't gravitate to it too much at the time since we were new to extreme metal. But once TWoAF came out, we were both absolutely hooked; it took quite a long time for me to come around on FMTS, but it's now my second favorite album by these guys :]

Band finally clicked for me and this album is truly legendary. A sight to behold is my favorite as of now, but everything front to back is top tier material
