and also i guess i see cali love as sort of analogous to hit em up, a legendary track that is so big it doesn't even need to be on an album, it stands entirely on its own

honestly i think it really says a lot when a dude like pac can take what would otherwise be corny and at times cringeworthy beats and turn them into soulful spiritual masterpieces, he just instinctively knew how to compliment whatever energy was being presented to him
like i cant think of another rapper who could spit over life goes on or i ain't mad atcha and make me ever want to hear the song again, but he turned them into stone cold classics
2pac is the ultimate enigma, every single human could benefit in some way from learning about him and his life

He had charisma, flow, and above all, a legit sense of self awareness. The guy was a genius that knew he was fucking up as a person at times, and most of his songs represent a duality between being a thug and an introspective sensitive type.
