Exit Music is fantastic yeah. "we hope that you choke" and that choir mmmm so haunting
and Bed is good yeah but it's just not my favorite
Be Gone, however, is probably my least favorite Brand New song

If TDAG's vibe is more reserved (which I mostly agree with), it's also more strained - Daisy gives zero fucks about painstakingly careful songwriting and sounds so much more at ease

That's a really good way of putting it. Daisy is a much looser album than TDAG and I can see the appeal of that. I personally don't usually turn to Brand New for looseness in music, but they do it well. Just not my personal preference when it comes to Brand New. The album grows on me more and more, though.

The drab, understated acoustic first section of exit music is what makes the song so damn good. It's so haunting in its simplicity and it builds tension for the next part perfectly. The way Thom says "you can laugh that spineless laugh" with such a begrudging, cocky, and unimpressed tone is perfect as the music begins to build behind it. And the final exposition "and now we are one in everlasting peace" leading out to the whimpering series of "we hope that you choke"... just insane. Honestly a perfect song, imo. Best song on OKC. Perfect groundwork is laid for the perfect build up, perfect length, perfect execution. Of course that's all just my opinion.
I'm also a fan of Bed. I think it's an underrated gem on Daisy, as is In a Jar. It's hard to consider "Be Gone" a real song, as it's more of an album congruity stepping stone (much like Fitter Happier or Treefingers, for yet another Radiohead simile). That said, I think At the Bottom is my least favorite from Daisy, honestly. I know it's a fan favorite (at least it seems to be) but it just stands out like a sore thumb on that record. It's good. But far from great.

biggest growers for me were Noro and Daisy. Hated them in 2009 when this came out. Really enjoy Daisy now, and fucking love Noro.
