Yeah this has a flame that the new one lacks. Both are good, but this one is just unstoppable. Gonna have to bump it.

Idk I dig them about the same. I feel like the new one is a bit more consistent tbh.

this leaves me so frustrated. like i really really like their atmosphere they're going for but i feel they kinda try their best to ruin it themselves

There probably isn't a single damn person in this thread who listens to Volumes, but I think the bassist for this band, Daniel Schwartz, was the former rhythm guitarist for Volumes. I'm trying to confirm if this is true.

Hmm should I travel to watch Periphery live just to see this band and Plini supporting?

not a fan of any of the bands performing in the slightest but if you 4.5 something i think that's always a green light to go and see them

Yeah it wouldn't even be a question if I didn't have to travel for it, I just have a sinking feeling they'll fill their, what, 20 min(?) opening set with dross from the new album instead of this. And obviously I wouldn't even stick around for Periphery.

I'd wait for a smaller show where they're headlining or even 2nd on the bill. Not worth it for that short of a set, which is probably filled with new stuff as you said. They seem to have really cornered the market on djent/"prog" metalheads lol.

Waaait why's that? I have my first ever chance to see them after waiting for almost a decade so I snapped up a ticket assuming they'd put on a good show even if I can't binge all their stuff anymore.

ramon.

periphery live would be awesome, even if i dont really care much for anything they've done since the debut. given how gear nerdy they are, i reckon they'd have some killer live production
