lmao, i meant i think it's silly to dislike solely music for reasons other than how it sounds (particularly "the lyrics are bad", etc. etc.) i always consider how it sounds to be by far the most important thing when it comes to a song/album.

ya bad lyrics don't usually bother me if the music as a whole sounds good, but with this it's different. these lyrics are just so blatant and irritatingly bad that they consume all of my attention and i am unable to ignore them

I take lyrics into consideration hard depending on their significance in a product. For an album like this, they're possibly more important than the music themselves when considering their intended purpose and Anoh's comments regarding them. IMO at least.

Given the generally bland and low-key instrumentation, the lyrics are definitely a valid criticism. I think they always are, regardless whether they're good or not.

as i said. lyrics are valid points of critique, but i'm not a fan of the idea of disliking a song (for being a song) without having heard it.
i suppose it takes more nuance than that, however. the context should always matter, at least a little.
