I've genuinely never met a douchey tool fan or deftones fan so therefore I most likely am the douchey tool fan / deftones fan

Kinda can't believe how boring this turned out to be, was so stoked after how good KNY was.

KNY is a fucking bullseye tonally compared to this album

like why does this have guitar solos whyyyyy

how is the production simultaneously not atmospheric enough and not straightforward enough whyyyyy

why did they forget how to write songs with decent structures whyyyyyyyy

The only aspect of this I'm disappointed with is the production, the songwriting is fantastic. KNY and SNW are better though

I feel like the production problems kind of stem from songwriting problems though

Like, if a band came to me with a demo of pittura infamente or geometric headdress I'd be like, 'dude, I have no fuckin clue what to do with this'

and then you try to master an album that can go from those tracks to stuff like phantom bride or stuff like the opening song or stuff like acid hologram without massive tonal changes... it's quite an undertaking and I wouldn't want to be behind the boards

KNY could've had this production and everything else remain the same though. This should've just sounded exactly like that production wise and everything would've been fine. SNW was even more diverse and they made it work too

honestly I'm in the minority that thinks snw is kind of a disaster tonally and production-wise too but anyway >_>

Still one of the most visually unappealing album covers I've ever seen, I don't know why but something about it grinds my gears.

@wwf Kind of in the same boat, when more than one song have noticeable different feels in production value, it can almost ruin it. Worst being when one song is quiet and the next louder and so on.

the way the birds clutter together in some places is really, reallyyyy ugly yeah

it's even worse when you realize it's a digital cover from some of the videos they released so someone actually arranged it like that
