I dunno. I fucking love Images all the way through Six Degress and like half of Octavarium and have been waiting for them ever since to capture me. I just want them to stop jerking off to themselves and write songs again.

This is the only DT album I haven't listened to completely. Don't know when/if I'll do that.
@DLucca Agreed, that was their golden era. I enjoy TOT and Octavarium, but you can tell the spark was dying

The spark was dying, but Dream Theater were still making good albums in that time period. This, I don't know..mixed bag; probably their worst for me.

This album continues to live up to it's name it seems. What an astonishing dreadful idea.

I forgot this album even existed

James really lost his voice over the years. I hope it never happens to me.

Strip out most of the ballads, have someone re-write the terrible lyrics, strip out about 70 minutes overall, and there's a 4.0 in here.
Shame we'll never see it. This band frustrates the hell out of me. Rating it a little higher than it probably deserves just for few and far between parts where they return to their glory days.

"I just want them to stop jerking off to themselves and write songs again". Never understood this these days. If anything their last 2 albums have been a conscious strive to do this, and their two most popular albums, images and scenes, had way more of this kind of stuff than in recent years.
Also, James lost his voice? Dayum, plenty of flaws in this album (particularly lyrics and story) but the vocals are perhaps the highlight for me. I'd even go as far to say this is his best and most diverse performance since the early 90s!
