unwatchable is pretty strong especially considering Bowie is in the upper echelon of musician who can act

Fire Walk With Me was shite for the first 30 minutes but the rest was gr8

lol do you remember the "turkey in the pines" exchange between Laura and James? You can't honestly tell me that was anything other like hilariously bad.

Or how the replacement Donna's acting was just awkward and out of place. Dude comparing that pile of trash to the original TV show is just wrong and I'm not having any of it.

I don't know how hard this is for you to comprehend but I'm going to attempt it again because you don't seem to have processed it - fuck you, I'm allowed to say what I want to so stop giving me this bullshit

you seem to forget all the fucking awful shit that was in the original TV show anyway, at least 20% of season 2 was just as bad if not worse than those exchanges

More like 10% in my opinion

Like the James and Evelyn subplot yeah... pretty bad through and through.

I didn't really enjoy Fire Walk With Me at all though.

Even the lesser plots in season 2 (other than the Evelyn one) had their strong moments and just the right amount of cheesiness that made what would have been the worst parts more funny than actually terrible. Even parts I thought were bad my first watch through got better during my second watch through.

I should really give the series a third watch through honestly...

even as someone who thinks Twin Peaks is one of the greatest shows ever made, episodes 19-22 are some of the most unsalvageable shite ever and you're deluding yourself if you think otherwise

the first bit of Fire Walk With Me is arguably the least engaging piece of film Lynch has ever made, once we actually move to the town of Twin Peaks it gets better if only due to Sheryl Lee being fucking amazing as Laura

Windom Earle is pretty good agreed but only the Black Lodge episode is up there with the best Twin Peaks episodes as far as Earle bits go

Maybe, but if we're talking season 2 everything up to when Laura's killer is revealed and dies (let's not spoil that incase we have people reading this thread) is just as good as season 1.

Plus I found the Civil War stuff hilarious, so I didn't mind it, it seemed like comic relief as the plot in other areas got heavier.

Oh I completely agree and Episode 14 is the best episode of the show but my point that some of it is absolute trash still stands

But then there's Super Nadine and Mike, James, Norma's mother showing up for no reason

I didn't mind Norma's mother, her new husband exposed Hank as an asshole so it worked. The whole point of the show (according to Lynch himself) is that the show is supposed to be more about the people of the town rather than just Laura and her plot.

Super Nadine and Mike bullshit = almost as funny as the Civil War bullshit.

James post killer reveal was garbage, but DUH he was the only one who was still pretty bad pre-killer death too (that awful song he sang with Donna and Maddie lol)

Supposedly the actual voice wasn't James' it was Lynch's dubbed over, oh Lynch...

Bets on how much it takes the label to release these demos?

Sounds like he intended them to be an album though so I won't care too much if they get released - it'll only suck if they start scraping together c-sides from the Ziggy era and calling them an album (aka pulling a Hendrix)

Or what they did Zappa's death post "career," milking it for all its worth.

depends how much big dave got done and exactly what he'd discussed with visconti

visconti is a class act, can't see him polishing up a few recordings unless bowie told him to

considering how private he was, I really doubt aside from the most obvious releases (the demoes, Toy, and the occasional live album), there won't be much to put out. I'd dig a box set akin to what King Crimson did for Larks/Starless/Red with Ziggy or Hunky Dory though. Considering the dearth of outtakes from '71-'72 alone (among them Sweet Head, Bombers, and Black Hole Kids, a track Bowie talked about around the 30th anniversary of Ziggy, when he was planning something along the lines of a musical I believe).
