production on act 2 is abysmal imo. perfectly fine on act 1 but act 2 is not good production-wise.

I agree about act 2. It just sounds off, everything is so flat. Act 3 is my favorite production wise.

It's really empty feeling, it just sounds like an ambitious independent project. He was self-producing, and you can hear him getting better and better. Act II feels very compressed and low quality.

yeah act II has a good amount of very memorable TDH tracks. before this came out, i thought it was the best out of the first three tbh

I thought so for ages (nostalgia's sake: Bitter Suite 1 and 2 + Red Hands were my first TDH jams and still some of my faves) but 3 eventually took over, much better crafted and more consistent imo. 2 is still hella close tho

I considered this to be the weakest but now I'm sure it's better than I and III

Indeed I did. Still think it has it's really bad parts (If All Goes Well through Wait and the chorus of Old Haunt especially) but the good parts are just what I want from my TDH jamz

The chorus of The Old Haunt is awful. The recurrent inflection on "far too many ways to die, far too many ways to die" makes me cringe every time.

To me it's just a slightly weaker TDH rocker in the same vein as The Procession that has an absolutely astounding bridge (WAKE UUUUUUUUUUUUUP)
