I had to - I'm at the point where you say "country music" and this is the first album that comes to my mind, though I probably do still prefer The Magnolia Electric Co by a hair. I may very well end up 5'ing one or both of them someday.

What is this Magnolia Electric Co you speak of?

Depending on who you ask, it's either the final album by Songs: Ohia, or the self-titled debut by Magnolia Electric Co. Wonderful, wonderful alt-country album.

Southeastern > Magnolia Electric Co.

And I'd had enough

About a month ago tomorrow

Parting holds no trace of sorrow

For the bitter and the burned

"New South Wales" isn't quite as emotionally pummeling as most of the other stuff here is but it's perfect in its own way, such a redemptive tone.

And up to 100 ratings! His profile has been growing more on this site and out in the general music scene, which is brilliant to see.

I’ve seen him theee times but I don’t think I actually shed a tear at any. I did at James McMurtry opening for Isbell though.

Just saw him last night, the show was just about everything you could ask for: flawless performance, superb sound and mix, no crowd disruptions, those trademark Isbell inter-song wisecracks, the whole deal

Honestly prob a top 3 concert I've ever attended

Word. Saw him live for the first time about 8 years ago, before I'd heard any of his solo music. Good times.
