Dulcinea always makes me think about dulce de leche.

The whole last half of Dulcinea is so profound. Aaron's drumming really reminds me of a more sensitive version of Danny Careys rhythms in Ticks And Leeches.

I think Over Root and Thorn has a great ending. I love the drum beat.

I always switch between this, Panopticon and Oceanic for best Isis. They're fucking nuts man.

This one just isn't quite as powerful as their others in my humble opinion. It seems a lot more subdued and I'm kind of left waiting for one of their usual cathartic or climactic passages but they never really come. The closes thing would be the end of Dulcinea and Wrists of Kings but they're still a little bit underwhelming. I'm just being picky though this is still a fantastic album.

I think of this as a powerful album in different ways. It's power lays in its more abundant post rock esque moments. Like in 1,000 Shards, Garden Of Light, and Holy Tears. Damn little soloy part in 1,000 Shards gets me every time.

Garden of Light is my favourite on here, and one of my favourite songs of theirs in general. Probably their worst album though.
