Idk, man. I keep finding myself thinking "oh, this part is awesome. Oh. This part is terrible."

Shark dad has some hooks/clean parts that are just as good as the heavy parts people are into in that song. It's great

You know, I can envision a universe where I'm not nearly into music as I am now, due to certain key events and choices in my life going differently. But I can't imagine a universe in which I don't like Dance Gavin Dance.

@TheCollective "Variation" is one of the best songs DGD has produced in albums.

variation sucks dick

the first half of the song features vocals that sound almost as bad as the ones on AS.

The only thing that really brings this down for me is it being a little too quick to change direction. I like progression with my dg,

Feel the same about this as every other DGD album, unfortunately. The lyrics are just way too much to take.

When people say all post-hardcore bands sing about is their ex-girlfriends I say: "yeah you're right. BUT IT'S DELIVERED REALLY WELL!"

That said I just got dumped so at this point cheesy/cringy lyrics are a-ok with me.

@MalleusMaleficarum If you honestly think that, than I have no clue what "Acceptance Speech" album you were listening to...

hes doing the same pathetic attempts to be jonny-esque on that song that he did on AS, pushing further than he can actually go and it sounds stupid and overproduced just like chunks of acceptance speech. bro, why not just whine into a vocoder or something?

he sounds best when he isnt trying to do the jonny pushes ie: the verse in death of a strawberry, end of own the night, or throughout the majority of awkward

The sugar daddy line still ruins the chorus of strawberry. Like 80% of his lyrics are so dumb and not in a charming dgd way

I can't say I think Tillian is trying to be Craig at all. They're so different. Tillian can't get anywhere near as low as Craig.
