BFE is actually from 2011 so I would call it one of the newer SS games. If you want true old school, go for Serious Sam The First Encounter and The Second Encounter from the early 2000s.
But in the end they're all the same shit, it doesn't even matter lol. If you like killing waves and waves of monsters in an open world you'll enjoy any release.
Mute the soundtrack and blast your favourite music to make things even more enjoyable.

New DOOM is the best game I've played in quite a while, tbh. I don't play a ton of games, but it was more or less a perfect game. It is classic DOOM- hard as fuck too. Turn the difficulty up when you finally get it.

My friend showed me the new Doom and it's exactly what you'd expect. It's cool but I've been hard for Horizon for a while... but I don't think you can really play that with JFAC in the background :/

I'm stuck in Doom on nightmare, I just run out of ammo and can't find more I couldn't imagine playing it on ultra-nightmare.

Jamming this right now. Fucking rules hard. The bass is godly and it is monstrous throughout from a musical perspective. I hope they continue down this road with further releases. It's amazing to think Jfac popularized deathcore yet now they are a mix of Cynic, Atheist and Death with Cannibal Corpse mixed with The Black Dahlia Murder In terms of vocals. I might have to bump this to a 4.5. So good.
