I'm harsh with female vocals, often find they drift along without much personality.

Female vocalists have to work extra hard to compete to catch my attention, here they bore me to tears

Strangely I find female backing vocals are nearly always an awesome addition to most music though

I'm sure the twig lady would be great at them.

Funny that you say that. In the past, she was a back up dancer and singer for one Lady Gaga.
Also I'm the opposite a you for female vocals, kinda. It's easier for me find female vocals more unique, which I certainly think twig is.
