dig this a lot, two parts not so much but it's a groove and a half too

You’ll probably like it then.
I think Two Parts Viper is their best and the new one def sounds closer to this to me.

Agreed, two parts is their best. New one is good but can be a little grating at times

I've only given it one listen but I guess I'm gonna be that guy and say the new one is a monstrous disappointment and just sounds like a collection of B-sides, like that EP they dropped last year.

I wouldn’t go that far personally. That EP was horribly produced and sounded like a bunch of B sides.
I’m warming to the new record. I’d say it about as good as this one but is def a disappointment after Two Parts Viper, which I think is one of the best rock albums of the last decade.
When I see them live I won’t be screaming along to lyrics on the new one like I did when Two Parts came out.

I think I prefer this one to Two Parts Viper, but they're both 4.5's. There's just such a wild and off the cuff energy on display here that is so infectious. Probably because they wrote half of these songs in the studio while recording lol

Oof I really don’t like the new song. That singing part in the back half is cringe

I dig it. Definitely a step in the right direction after their last LP.
But yeah I think this project has run it’s course at this point. Maybe time for Josh to hang it up and try something else

this project has run it’s course [2]
I wonder if the change in drummers has anything to do with the shift

this project was never that good to begin with
bring the chariot back already, lads, I'm sick of this midtier southerncore poo poo

First two records are MASSIVE jams. Watching Josh evolve from The Chariot to this was incredibly satisfying and exciting at the time

The variety on display is just mind blowing. The closer is basically like fucking shout poetry, there’s some songs that wouldn’t sound out of place on like an alt rock radio station, and there’s the typical shouty moments all with a real noise rock and almost bluesy attitude. I love their first two records.
And the lyricism is top notch. Death is a Lottery and What More Can I Say are legit tear jerkers.
edit: wrong album thread but w/e, track 6 is one of their best songs, last minute or so is fucking heavenly

Can't remember if I ever gave this an actual try
will check, specially if it's southern core-ish. I do love me a little of that

I've always thought of it as a noise rock album but there are definitely sludgy southern riffs

Yea the noise rock is probs a better descrip after listening but there is some bluesy southernish stuff going on in the riffs methinks too
Im into it
