If its not a 4.5 average rating or some around like that, its not a masterpiece, or at least not for the masses.
But who cares what masses think about when this album has a 3.8 average and it's fucking trash?

I just don't think Coldplay is really the sort of band to create a "masterpiece", regardless of how good they are at what they do.
Then again a lot of people would probably say the same thing about OK Go so what do I know

Well, I wouldn’t say it’s a straight up MASTERPIECE personally but it’s definitely an excellent album. I don’t want to throw out the word masterpiece lightly.
If any of their albums are a masterpiece, it’s A Rush of Blood (even then, not sure if quite call it that).
But it’s obviously subjective. Just tossing my opinion into the hat.
In my mind, Rush of Blood is their best album, no contest.

They all have different strengths so they can be kinda hard to compare. Parachutes is all about that lovely atmosphere, this one is their best set of individual songs, and Viva La Vida has the diversity.
