@pedro70512 I knpw im prob one of the only few human beings on this planet who wasnt too thrilled with cts and thinks blood
was their best, even the though from a songwriting standpoint this record is more cohesive and put together than blood, but blood
has a special little corner in my heart always...

I love Blood Mountain, personally. It was my introduction to the band and strikes a perfect middle ground between awesome heaviness (a la Battle at Sea) and artsy experimentation (a la The Last Baron). Sure, the second half is totally scattershot, but it's a barrel of fun. Realistic 4.5, sentimental 5.

The first six songs (not including Bladecatcher) might be my favorite half of any album, non-Isis
division.

This is actually cool, tons better than Blood Mountain but still doesn't match Crack The Skye or Leviathan.

Just when I thought Mastodon could redeem themselves, they release this turd. Asleep is good but everything else is complete garbage

The Motherload? That's my favorite. I was iffy as I didn't care too much for the singles they leaked a long time ago, but honestly those were the only ones I didn't like

The Motherload better finally win the fucking Grammy award. The world needs to hear these guys and that publicity would go a long way. No more BFMV at #1 on the charts.

Halloween is dope.
Also I'm liking the production on this a lot. The drums sound fantastic.
|
| |
I like to think that mastodon can transcend national barriers and win a granny too

Don't know if I'd go that far but the song is really dope. Catchy, smooth, & a killer guitar solo

motherload is awesome but its not gonna be appealing to radio listeners. maybe if they did an edit to make it shorter.
also who gives a fuck about a grammy. half of these critics can't even stomach mastodon, let alone stand them

Depends on the critics you're talking about cuz The Hunter, one of my least favorites by them, garnered an 88 on metacritic.
That's damn high. Higher than even Crack the Skye, which happens to be my favorite. I just say fuck it to critics.
They also gave Hurry Up, We're Dreaming a 76. And The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me a 78. Both of which are 5s in
my book. So either I'm bad. Or critics don't know. Or both lol
