I just don't think I have any real interest in a festival. I don't know. Seems too impersonal. The lineups always scream desperation as far as getting people to go and so the whole deal seems gimmicky to me. Maybe if there was one where I actually dug over 60 percent of a lineup, I'd change my mind, but until then I'm not paying out the ass to see a bunch of lackluster bands with a couple I love in a shitty acoustical atmosphere.

Dude, here in Portugal we had a festival-line up featuring Kendrick Lamar, The National, Mogwai, Neutral Milk Hotel, Godspeed, John Grant, Slint, St. Vincent, Darkside, was a p good line-up tbh

Festival lineups are way better out of the US for some reason.

Yeah we have some sweet, really cheap festivals too. I guess we've got a couple super mainstream ones and then they can make more specialised ones for other people.

Plus travel isn't really an issue cos you can pretty much get everywhere in the country easily so that helps. Can just have one or two massive mainstream ones and everyone'll go there, while in America you need a mainstream kinda one in each state really

Aus gets horrible festival lineups generally, need to go to Europe and go to Glasto or something.

Agreed that intimate venues > festival experiences though but I'd hazard a guess that that is almost unanimously accepted as fact amongst music fans.

Bonarroo seems like it > both

But id much rather go to Europe than the US

So I'll inevitably end up at a European festival

Roskilde is allegedly fantastic but the lineup kinda blew this year

I dunno dudes it's all about the EXPERIENCE

And the DRUGS
