"Kurt had the lyrics. One of my main draws to Nirvana. I know that a lot of my love for this band is nostalgic, but I still think they had something that no one else did. Fuck the haters."
This swells the heart.

What you kids fail to understand (apart from the dudes who know) are Nirvana are there for you. There is nothing but unrelenting pent up anger in the name of pent up anger.

I have to agree, lyrically I've always felt more connected to Nirvana than the other big 4 of grunge, not to mention the influence they've had on my approach to writing lyrics

Nonsensical, sarcastic, embittered self loathing doesn't tick the boxes for some.
It's fair enough.
|

eh punk isn't for everyone i guess, since kurt really was one of those kind of guys lyrically
|
| |
I just hate his overly simplified vocabulary and that most of the songs I've heard from them come off as purposeless, and redundant. Sometimes lines have words purely for words sake and have nothing to do with anything.

Do you only listen to political punk, Fallen? Because you can make the argument that pretty much all other lyrics are pointless. If it isn't a call to action, does it serve no purpose? I'm being serious about this question by the way.
