didn't get goosebumps even once while listening to this

only part that came close was the first minute of plateau and that dies away quickly

and about 15 listens genuinely hasn't helped it

Bummer...

Bah, so Ive gave this a thorough listen now and it hasnt really amounted to much. I really enjoy 'The Astral Dialouge' but man does this album chug along like a motherfucker. Its such a monotonous, awkward affair most of the time, one that both stagnates and meanders into a whole lot of nothingness.

The Serpent and the Sphere is only consistent in the middle of the album. First songs drag, then it picks up, only to slump back into meandering mode. While there are moments in this record, it comes after about 15 minutes of "atmosphere" or the band almost not trying. That might be unfair, but it sure comes across that way.

2.0/5

I've been reading all this justification for the album being the way it is because of "Oh, I've listened to this for 20 hrs." or "I've listened to this a million times today" and quite frankly, I'm just going to call everyone out for being idiotic (minus the people who've had this for a couple of weeks) and it's because like everything in life, shit gets better or gets worse with time. All of your ratings and justifications are delusional and you're stupid for thinking otherwise. Just playin' old stupid!

Except you're wrong. This is like Pale Folklore + Our Fortress Is Burning + Jormungandr + THOSE DYNAMICS, I won't fanboy-5 it straight off but seriously this is INCREDIBLE.
