Going off topic for a sec, but since we're talking about that "special atmosphere," have you guys

tried The Dark, Dark Bright by There Will Be Fireworks? That's another special one for me, I recommend

it.

Do tell Choccy. What is your interpretation of Mastodon's record "Leviathan"? MOBY D-D-D-Dick! It is not as abstract as people are making it to be. I guess people are free to be wrong, like saying "Leviathan" is an album themed from the "Wizard of Oz".

lol not that i want to entertain your childish antics, but have you considered that 'getting' an album isn't integral to enjoying, or even loving it? so many albums, movies, books, etc., are opened to interpretation due to ambiguity. this is one of those cases

Exception, not a rule bro. I'm not saying everything is abstract and nothing has loose concepts from a book, but you seem to think everything does.

Again, please do one for Sigur Ros' untitled album. I'd love to hear your opinion on how such meaningful lyrical content there is in that, which actually compromises of about 10 made up sounds throughout. That's something that's clearly down to the listener to interpret it. The fact it's untitled even suggests that!

Well, yeah. There are many abstract albums. This is not one. "Birds overhead flying south from the cold." This lyric from "I've Been Walking pt. 1" many might consider a throwaway line, but with context you can suss out the meaning. While all other "birds" are busy escaping discomfort, our guy is going to stay. Beautiful. Not taking the easy path he will bear up under the "winter of his discontent".

Please tell me Choccy, that you appreciate the reference to "Birds". Re: "The King of Limbs"!

Well it's one that makes sense, but I don't think the music really fit the concept of birds, especially a song like Feral. I mean, take Hospice again as an example, even without the knowledge of the concept, 'Sylvia' has that distorted tone which actually makes it sound like a broken ECG from a hospital which complements the theme.

Don't feel the same way about The King of Limbs

Feral means "wild", "untamed". A transformation. Going to join the ranks of the "King", so he must shed convention. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon went very feral, eating grass like an ox, and he had the matted hair and talons of an Eagle. This can be found in the book of Daniel.

"Just an orphaned line." Doesn't read much." Oh, the manuscript's light." Fragment of present." Lyric from "I've Been Walking pt.1". I think this album needs another review. Lest prospective listeners who "don't read much" get the wrong idea. This is not Carcosa, and this is not about the "Yellow King". I feel much of this album will be "orphaned" by untrained ears.

I just hate when people get such a wrong impression. I mean "Gazpacho" is kind of a corny band name. On top of that "Demon" for an album title elicits probably what most people think when seeing an album title like that. Dark, evil devoid of anything hopeful or good.

A lyric sheet is highly recommended. http://lyrics.wikia.com/Gazpacho:Demon_%282014%29. Even the reviewer said in a comment, that he is finally beginning to understand what is happening in these songs with the accompaniment of lyrics. After all the album is "aped" from a manuscript. This album is dense with meaning. I really like it.
