Maybe we will know when they release an official statement. Mike, dave, joe, brad and rob could make a band together again but they need to change the name and they need to change the concept. The big problem is that the choose of a new focus will be a nightmare considering that LP covered a vast amount of sounds.

Crazy town must be happy that now they're the only band that has that kind of linkin park esque band.

I still remember listening to Papercut for the first time. That song felt so different and cathartic at the time, I'd listen to it nonstop for days.
I still don't know what to say about today. Like, it feels terrible, it's a chilling reminder of how depression might kill me someday and I even cried in front of my parents, but it's also so surreal. Sometimes it doesn't feel real. Not long ago I was frustrated with how Chester was reacting to criticism of One More Light but also trying to understand his side...
Rest in peace.

Absolutely, I remember there used to be 2 kind of nu-metal fans, those who followed limp bizkit and those who followed linkin park, I used to belong to the first group.

Yep, pretty accurate. There were def some other bands like Papa Roach, but LP and LB were the 2 big dogs.
I was down with LP too because LB had too much swearing but once LP went soft I switched to LB.

Tbh I was always on the side of LP, even during my nu metal and metalcore years I hated LB. By the way here in newcastle korn, slipknot and system were more popular than LB which already had a really bad reputation specially during the results may vary era

What i most want Linkin Park to do in the wake of this horrifying news is 1)Honor Chester by doing a reanimation part 2 with meteroa and onward songs. 2) Stay together but go under a new name(possibly one that honors chester in some capacity) and make music purley with mike as vocalist. Lots of breaking the habit synths and mikes calming vocals. 3) Break up with a final statement and let things go.
I cant ever state how much this new depresses me. If any of you have seen LP interviews youll have seen how lively and goofy Chester could be but when he got serious to talk about the music you could hear his passion and love. What a beautiful person and ill miss him a lot. Rest in peace Chester

Man. I don't care how juvenile some of this is...
A place for my Head still fucking rips. The only album that compares to this on a pop culture impact level in my cognizant lifetime is The Marshall Mathers LP.

Yeah definitely, at least these guys had some passable, catchy songs. LB just made me want to punch myself in the face over & over again. Maybe I was just older than some of you guys when they rose to prominence, can't remember exactly but I was definitely at school.

I still contend that if you take away the lyrics to Nookie that song is undeniably catchy and borderline great.
