I love every song on here, but t/t would prob be at the bottom of my ranking of tracks. Other than that, the album would be tough to rank.

Yea it's great but it lacks the substance of the other songs. With the exception of Hooker With A Penis which is just plain funny haha

lyrically I think its a fantastic analogy, he's not really praying for cali to sink into the ocean or anything... the whole album is about self-change (probably though a very bad psych trip, but could just be an existential crisis) and the t/t is about coming to terms with wanting to flush away the ego, or basically the artificial beliefs you hold as important that really don't fucking matter (like your car, addictions, politics, etc)... its a very common part of most intense psychedelic trips and your ego is what holds you back from seeing yourself and is something you have to tear through

which opens up the door to reaching the third eye, or the awakening and realization... I may seem like I'm going too far into things but its really not that deep of a concept if you think about it lol

Lol whelp...I've always taken that particular song literally haha so whatever floats your boat about

that song man! I know he doesn't really want cali to drown in a giant tidal wave but he was a VERY

angry man at the time so I've always taken it as a misguided temper tantrum or something like that.

I've always thought that Lateralus was about letting all of that shit go.

I mean to each their own, but that line at the end "try to read between the lines" kinda makes me think theres more to it than the literal interpretation, I mean this is the dude who wrote the lyrics to "Reflection" after all which is also about peeling away the ego (only that time the lyrics come right out and say it)
