I've already listened 3-4 times, and I often just give a rating as a placeholder and change it later if my opinion changes.

Geez everyone's taking it as a personal insult. I just meant obv trolls and people who want to feel cool by having an extreme rating they can rant about

Good review, but I don't like the summary much. You should write more, though.

Excited to hear this when I can.

Omaha - it's a slow burner compared to Sound Awake

this constant repeating of the fact that sound awake was immediate blows my mind. i thought it was terribly boring on the first few listens. much like the same opinion that's been constantly parroted for this release.

these guys haven't been upfront in their presentation since Themata.

Eidolon is the best song here.

I didn't think much of Sound Awake the first time I heard it, but that's because I'd spent the two years before that enjoying Themata and of course the only track that stood out first time was 'Set Fire to the Hive'. After the second time it clicked into place and 'Deadman' has been an all-time favourite song of mine since then.

This album is almost as big of a release as Sound Awake is for these guys because they've taken a different direction once again and they should be incredibly proud of that if nothing else.

After four spins I'm loving it.

Don't understand the comments sayin Sound Awake was immediate. Come on, really? Songs like Set Fire to the Hive, The Caudal Lure, Deadman and Change took time to grow on me.

It's just pretty boring to me. Sound Awake was pretty cool though in the sense it just sounded like a really catchy version of what Tool have been doing for years.

I like them so much more than tool = evidence they don't sound like tool.
